The Oakville & Milton Humane Society has been in operation since 1936. Many changes have taken place over the more than 70 year history of the shelter, but our primary goal has always been animal welfare, including providing food, shelter and care for the many stray and unwanted pets in the community. We currently have cage space for 250 lost, abandoned, abused or injured animals.
Every year, more than 150 volunteers and 45 full and part time staff care for nearly 5000 animals which pass through the shelter. Our work includes:
- Serving the communities of Oakville and Milton
- Promoting responsible pet ownership through education and public awareness
- Protecting all animals, investigating and prosecuting under the authority of the OSPCA Act
- Providing shelter and care for animals in need
We would not be able to continue this work without the support of our volunteers and generous donations from the community.
Thank you for visiting our our new website. Please bear with us while it is under construction. Please look around and feel free to contact us or even visit our facility if you have any questions.
